This recently completed project in Westerham, Surrey, is a fantastic example of how a combination of high-quality products, thoughtful design and expert installation can completely change an existing room.

The homeowners wanted to replace their worn-out glass roof and take the opportunity to upgrade the conservatory throughout. The result is a stunning, high-specification living space with improved comfort, plenty of natural light and a contemporary new look.

The Challenge

The existing conservatory featured an ageing glass roof that was ready for replacement. Rather than simply installing a new roof, the homeowners wanted to take the opportunity to completely update the space and create a room that felt more like a natural extension of their home.

The project included replacing the existing roof, improving the glazing and doors, adding new internal and external lighting, and finishing the interior with a fresh decorative finish.

The Solution

We carefully removed the existing glass roof before installing a high-performance SupaLite tiled conservatory roof.

The new roof features two SkyVista glass panels, allowing natural light to continue flooding into the room while providing the benefits of a solid conservatory roof.

We also incorporated a VELUX roof window with an electric blind, adding another source of natural light and giving homeowners convenient control over the space.

Together, these features create a bright, comfortable room while maintaining the clean, contemporary look of the new roof.

New Aluminium Bi-Fold Doors

As part of the transformation, the existing front PVC doors and side casement windows were removed and replaced with a stunning set of Sheerline aluminium bi-fold doors.

Featuring Active Blue glass from Pilkington Glass, the new bi-fold doors create a striking focal point while providing a wide opening onto the garden.

The slim aluminium frames complement the new roof and give the conservatory a much more modern and spacious feel.

Lighting and Interior Finishing

To complete the project, Higgins Electrical Services installed internal and external LED lighting.

The new lighting helps make the room practical and inviting throughout the day and evening, while also enhancing the exterior of the property.

The final stage was a full internal decoration using Dulux Trade paints, giving the room a fresh, bright and polished finish.

The Finished Result

The finished conservatory in Westerham is almost unrecognisable from the original space.

The combination of a SupaLite tiled roof, SkyVista glass panels, VELUX roof window, electric blind, Sheerline aluminium bi-fold doors, Active Blue glazing, LED lighting and full internal decoration has created a truly high-specification living environment.

Rather than simply replacing an ageing roof, we have transformed the existing conservatory into a comfortable, stylish, and practical room the homeowners can enjoy year-round.

This is another fantastic example of how carefully selected products and expert installation can give an existing conservatory a new lease of life.
